Here's a summary of the chapter I wrote in the book on Voice Technology in Healthcare entitled: Automated, Virtual Caregiving using Voice-First Services: Proactive, Personalized, Wholistic, 24x7 and Affordable. If you'd rather watch a 15-minute summary I did when the book was published - then click here!
"In this chapter, Stuart Patterson outlines a unique approach to serving the needs of our aging population by leveraging the use of voice assistants. The author explains the advantages of using voice technologies for seniors and other persons of all ages who may need care around the clock, whether they are in their own home, aging in place, or at a managed health and wellness facility, such as an assisted living facility. The author compares the use of two different voice assistant models as a function of the patient’s needs: a combination of proactive models versus a reactive approach to needed health services. The section on the history and the rapid adoption of Voice technologies over the last 20 years is a welcome addition. Finally, LifePod’s Case study with the Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA) is an excellent example of the power of this technology."
