Stuart cofounded and launched LifePod, provider of the first proactive-voice remote patient monitoring platform enabling payors and providers to identify and manage social, behavioral and medical needs, increase engagement and reduce isolation. Results:
Developed/deployed an AI/voice-cloud platform supporting proactive- and reactive-voice services and including a Caregiver Portal and Dialog Management System and access to Google-voice services and APIs to 3rd-party content.
Raised ~$12m of private capital culminating in Series Seed II round led by Commonwealth Care Alliance and an agreement to deploy LifePod’s voice-first services to 10,000 dual-eligible clients.
Multiple patents issued for: Voice Controlled Assistance for Monitoring Adverse Events of a User and Coordinating Emergency Actions such as Caregiver Communication.
SpeechWorks to ScanSoft to Nuance
Stuart joined this startup in the exciting market for voice-activated services when run-rate was $1M per year and led its growth to $50M in sales, a public market cap ranging from $100M to $2B and a reputation worldwide as market leader. Results:
• Raised ~$160M of capital including the "12th most successful" NASDAQ IPO of 2000.
• Built a strong corporate culture known worldwide for quality, integrity and highest customer satisfaction.
• Drove strategy/marketing decisions including branding initiatives such as the SpeechWorks Here Guarantee.
• Secured investments from and partnerships with AOL and AT&T. Became leader in text-to-speech market 1 year after acquiring IP from AT&T.
• Led acquisitions of 2 private firms and minority investments in 2 others.
• Merged SpeechWorks with ScanSoft for 65% premium on stock price in 2003. (ScanSoft acquired Nuance in 2005.)


Agion to Sciessent - Antimicrobial Leader
Stuart was hired to turnaround this venture-backed provider of natural, antimicrobial additives. Results:
• Introduced new operational processes, redefined strategy/positioning and rebranded company.
• Achieved 30% CAGR in core business from 2006 to 2008, following three years of low/no growth, based on completion of multiple, multi-year contracts.
• Defined/launched M&A strategy, advanced to LOI with first target; outbid by public company.
• Transitioned control to company GC who led a management buyout a year later.

Stuart joined as Board director of this provider of video content search solutions to Global 2000. He became COO to help first-time CEO/founder with a series of strategic initiatives. Results:
• Restructuring/upgrading of exec team and company culture.
• Recasting of enterprise SaaS strategy resulting in two years of 56% CAGR in ARR and first-ever inclusion in Gartner's Magic Quadrant.
• Process to sell media-focused assets and BU in order to focus exclusively on enterprise BU -- deal closed in Q4 2015.
• Retained search for and transition to new CEO to run remaining Ramp-Enterprise business.
